The humbling mindset of Wabi-sabi comes from the ancient Japanese philosophy about making peace with our imperfect, temporary and unheroic nature. Deeply rooted in Buddhism, Wabi-sabi can be traced back to the 16th-century Japanese tea ceremonies.
