About this item

Handmade folk art items are always one of the most appealing to us here at Absolutely Nice. We're suckers for anything unusual, novelty or miniature and this handsome little stone croft house is no exception.

Turned from serpentine stone originating from Unst, this beautifully made miniature sculpture is packed with intricate detailing and is sure to look great on any shelf, sparking interest from anyone visiting your home.

Unst is one of the North Isles of the Sheltland Islands in Scotland. Largely grassland, with impressive coastal cliffs, Unst inhabits many Nationally important nature reserves, golden beaches and stunning voes. It is also home to the largest area of serpentine debris in Europe.

An interesting item of which its maker is unfortunately a mystery, singed underneath with what we think are the initials, J.S.H.

In good condition with the usual scratching markings, and some visible glue debris commensurate with age. One of the little chimneys is also missing.

Measuring approximately 6cm tall, 15.5cm long and 11cm deep.
