Large group in porcelain biscuit featuring "Le passage du guet" (The Passage of the Lookout) by Mathurin Moreau (1822-1912). The bisque is signed and dated "Math Moreau 1910". The subject is close to "Return from Mussel Fishing" and "Spring". In overall good condition. Mathurin Moreau (1822-1912), son and student of Jean-Baptiste Moreau, entered the École des Beaux-Arts at the age of nineteen, and exhibited at the Paris Salon for the first time in 1848. He was regularly praised for his Salon contributions and obtained a number of distinctions, including a gold medal at the Exposition Universelle of 1889.
