Antique late 19th century Japanese Meiji period very fine silver figures of quails, on a carved wood stand. The naturalistically modeled birds decorated with enamelled eyes and plumage, with realistically engraved feathers. Tested to be 950+ high grade silver. One of the birds signed Hasegawa Issei (Gyokutosai), 1890-1920, active in Asakusa, Tokyo during the Meiji and Taisho Eras. In excellent condition, no damage. Wear consistent with age and use. In Excellent Condition - No Damage. Weight 825 g.
