About this item

John Piper C.H. (British 1903-1992)
Inglesham Church
Lithograph printed in colours on Lana, unsigned proof print aside from the edition of 100.

Produced in 1989 to raise money for SPAB (The Society for Protection of Ancient Buildings), Piper chose Inglesham Church in Wiltshire as it was – he said – Betjeman’s favourite church. Saved in the late 19th century by William Morris – the founder of SPAB – today it is a Churches Conservation Trust church.
