About this item

A lovely Mounted Limited Edition Giclee Print by Ken White entitles Homeward Bound. Numbered 6/195. Of good size and of a nicely executed artwork by the highly collectible artist Ken White.
Born in 1943 in Swindon, England. Afterleaving school at 15 he worked in the railway yards for Great Western Railway following his father and grandfather. Ken moved to London and became a commercial illustrator, designing magazine and book covers. His big break came when he met a young entrepreneur named Richard Branson. He was asked to paint a mural for his London recording studio. Branson was so impressed with this that he paid him a retainer for 26 years as his personal mural artist. His most recognized work is his painting of "The Scarlet Lady" featured on the nose of every Virgin Aircraft. Ken how now turned his attention to recreating the scenes he remembers so well, depicting factory workers with their flat caps on their way to and from the factory.
