About this item

Watercolour study of the SS Imperator approaching Newlyn. When built in 1912, the Imperator was the largest passenger ship in the world. It spent much of WW1 in port in Hamburg where it was commissioned after the war to return american troops home. It was given to the British Cunard Line and renamed RMS Berengaria in 1919. This watercolour (artist unknown) has great movement and depth of field and is displayed in a lovely, warm burr maple frame.
