Hendrick Hulk 1842-1937

The youngest son of Abraham Hulk, ( 1813-1897 ), brother of Abraham Hulk Jr. He was obviously a pupil of his father, and throughout his life,in many cases, surpassed his father in the quality of his drawings and paintings.

Best known for his coastal pictures and for his excellent reproduction of sunlight and shadow through water. He apparently did not visit Britain as did his father and brother, but he is well represented in many important collections of Dutch 19th C art.
