About this item

This very rare item of pottery is originated from the Ateliers of Saintonge, one of the first French manufactures of ceramic (14th century).
The shape is remarkable: it has a double layer of ceramic. The outside part is decorated with a very delicate work of hollowing and engraving while the inside part is made to contain liquid.

A similar item is currently exposed at the Louvre.
